Relay For Life

Erin participated in the Relay for Life this past weekend. She worked hard and received numerous pledges from some very generous people and she was able to raise $1000 which will go toward cancer research and to help treat people with cancer. Her team raised $10,246.50 which was the largest amount raised by any team in participating in the Medicine Hat Relay for Life. The relay started at 7:00 Friday evening and ended at 7:00 Saturday, and at least one person from the team had to be walking the track at all times. There were events and fun things going all evening so when they weren't walking they were talking and partying. It sounded like it was great fun. At the beginning of the relay they had all of the participants who had survived cancer do the "Survivor Lap". It was quite moving to see all of these people who had gone through such a horrible thing band together in an effort to beat the cancer that they had all experienced and overcome. As they walked around the track everyone was applauding, and to me it seemed like their victory lap.

These are the luminaries which were lit at night and went all the way around the track. Each Luminary had a name on it person on it who had died of cancer or, in honor of someone who had survived cancer.

Ally Learning to Ride A Two Wheeler

Ally did really good. This was her second time trying to ride with no training wheels. I think that she will get it after a few more times practicing. She would actually get going pretty good for a while and then she would just slow down and bail.

Whipeout!!!
