Wondering...

Today I'm wondering about what this little fellow is going to look like.

I think Trev and I make beautiful babies. Call be biased but I'm sure mine are the cutest babies around. So, today I'm wondering who he's going to take after most. Will he have Trev's cute little flippy ears, my jaw line; Trev's lips? I know he's going to be SO cute. But will he have dark hair? A birth mark? Big hands? Dimples? Round cheeks?

Only time will tell.

Waiting...

I don't like waiting for things I want.

I think this is a very common thing for most people.

Right now I'm waiting for baby #4 to arrive. Am I crazy? Maybe.

I do understand what the 'arrival' process entitles. I'm not a big fan of that part...not in the least. But, in the end you get a baby. A cute little squishy, straight from Heaven baby and what's better then that?

So, for now, I don't like waiting and as the days tick on I'm sure I'll like it less and less.

Here's to hoping that he shows up sometime this week.

I'm hoping.

Wish me luck? Or just call me crazy...

Nixion's 5th Birthday

For Nixon's 5th Birthday we had a Bike Party. All of Nixon's friends brought their bikes, we decorated them and then headed to the outdoor rink by our house for the bike obstacle course. The obstacle course was had some jumps, a teeter totter, a balance beam, and a soccer ball that you had to kick. And when you were finished you had to ride your bike through the finishing line. After burning off some steam riding bikes like crazies, then we came back to the house and enjoyed an amazing 4 story chocolate cake complete with a chocolate mountain bike on candy rocks. Erin just seems to out-do herself every birthday. We all had a blast and Nix is excited being 5.

5

Where does the time go? I know I ask that question a lot and have never been able to get an answer that satisfies me. I know life is busy but how does a little baby turn 5 so quickly? I seems like only yesterday Nixon emerged into this world. He was such a cute baby. Always smiling and happy.

He watched everything and everyone around him and was always so eager to entertain people and make friends with whoever would take the time to stop and say 'hi' to him. As soon as he could talk he'd ask people where ever went went what their names were and he had instant friends as soon as we got to the park or pool. At a very young age I noticed that people were drawn to him; they still are.

I've always felt that Nixon is an old spirit and I really feel like people recognize that in him, even if they don't know that that's what it is. As he grows he continues to amaze me with his ability to make friends and his acceptance of people for who they are. Nixon has been such a joy to raise and has blessed our lives in so many ways. He's always quick to tell me he loves me and tries hard to do what is right.

Nixon also loves a party and is the first to be on board whenever something 'fun' comes up. I have truly enjoyed being his mother and look forward to the many years we will have together. I know one day I will count him as one of my best friends. What a blessing he is in my life. I love you Nixon!

Sunny Saturdays

It's Saturday. I like Saturdays. One day each week I get to sleep-in, eat pancakes, and have a clean house. The kids are playing outside right now. They're not fighting. I love it when they don't fight. I enjoy listening to their conversations. They are making an obstacle course right now with the pool and the sprinkler. Their cousins are coming over to play for a bit. Sunny days are so wonderful. Hopefully they'll continue to get along once the cousins show up. Sometimes things get a little crazy when you add more kids to the mix...sometimes the fun just gets better. I'll have to remember to send them to the slushie store if they get too wound up. A good walk and a slush always brings the mood back down to happy.

What are you up to today?

Exciting?

I'm afraid our blog has gotten a little boring...I think about it often and about all the witty things I could write here, but alas, when I sit down to post I forget all the 'cool' stuff and just end up posting 'lame' stuff about day to day life. Really how cool can life be when you run around after 3 kids all day, clean toilets, and fold clothes constantly? Like really?! This isn't very exciting...is it?

Maybe it is though.

I am abundantly blessed with good things in my life. I have a fantastic hubby, three wonderful kids, a great house, loving parents, wonderful sisters and brothers, friends, yummy food; the list goes on and on. Now that I think about it, maybe my life is pretty interesting. For instance, Trev and I travelled coast to coast here in Canada in April and explored this beautiful country we call home. It was amazing to see how different and expansive Canada is. We also are in the process of trying to secure visas for us to be able to move South to some sunnier weather and open up some new opportunities in life. And, tomorrow night Trev and I are going out on a DATE (woot, woot!) to a roller derby! Now what could be more 'cool' then that?! My life is good and maybe, just maybe, a bit on the exciting side. I mean who doesn't want to go to a roller derby? I'm pumped!

If anything my kids are cool. We've got style around here like nobodies business. Life is definitely EXCITING!

Our Montreal Trip

Our Montreal trip was fraught with adventure at every turn. We had a great time there and it was fun to explore a new place. At times it felt that we were not even in Canada but some place in Europe. We stayed in Old Montreal at a place called the Hotel Bonaparte. We road around on bikes and ate some good food.

Flavor Combination

Made another delicious chocolate cake today for the mom-in-laws birthday. It didn't end up looking as good as I wanted it to but it tasted delicious. I really do love me some chocolate cake!

SO GOOD!!!

Just imagine. A mixed berry reduction. Whipped cream. Rich chocolate fudge cake. Chocolate ganache. Combined and devoured and enjoyed. Who's birthday is next?
