5 Wonderful Days!
Scotia's getting bigger and we are all LOVING having her around. I'm amazed at how fast she's changing and find it hard to put her down, even for a quick shower. She's a good baby; quite content and happy to be here. We just love having Scotia in our family!

Fall Portraits
I recently had the kids protraits done and have been very happy with the results. Seeing them in pictures like this makes me realize how much they've grown up over the past year. Sometimes I can't believe how fast time flies.

Pumpkins!
We love this time of year. The candy, the costumes, the PUMPKINS! Carving pumpkins was lots of fun as the kids dug in and got slimy with pumpkin guts, and the pumpkins took on their new identities. Nixon's turned out to be rather 'scarwie' according to Nix and Ally's is...well, of course, a cat. And not just a pumpkin cat, but a girl pumpkin cat. Regardless, they both look great lit up and the kids think they're fabulous. Now we just can't wait to go Trick 'r Treating on Friday!
School Success
Ally continues to amaze me with her love of learning and ability to follow the 7 Habits at school. She was given an award this past week for practicing the 7 Habits throught her school day by synergizing with her friends and teacher, being proactive, and working to sharpen her saw. Seeing her accomplish so much at school gives me a lot of pride as a mom and make me think I must be doing something right. We are so proud of Ally!

Vancouver
Trevor and I just got back from a fabulous trip to Vancouver. We went without the kids, thanks to mom and dad Wallace, and had such a good time. While there we stayed in the Fairmount Hotel Vancouver downtown and enjoyed the luxury of a king sized bed and cable TV. We rented bikes one day and biked around Stanely Park and checked out the beaches and lighthouse there. We also spent a day on Granville Island and enjoyed the all the neat shops there. My favorite were the open fresh food markets where you can buy fresh fish, breads, fruits and vegetables. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful. What a great place to visit. Trev bought a new hat at a really neat hat shop we found on Granville Island and I found a specialty cream puff shop that is now my favorite place for a treat. We'd love to go back sometime, but were happy to come home to the kids. Being away certainly refreshes you and gives you renewed sense of what matters most in life. We had a great time in Vancouver.
Family Fun at the Zoo.
Our recent trip to the Calgary Zoo was a hit. The kids loved sleeping at the hotel and swimming in the pool there. We had a great day at the Zoo and the weather was perfect. We got to see all the new baby animals (the giraffe, elephant and gorilla) and the kids loved the playground there. Trev got pooped on by a bird...but, other then that we had a perfect day.

Our Garden of Plenty
We planted a garden this year with some friends of ours, the Torries, and have been so glad we did. Once a week or so the kids and I go and raid it and then during the week we enjoy fresh potatoes, carrots, zucchini, tomatoes, and green peppers. It's been so wonderful and such a treat to have. We did try planting corn, lettuce, beans and peas too but they didn't grow very well and we haven't gotten much from them. We really love having a garden!

Hmmm.......?
This is what happens when I leave Trevor alone with the kids for awhile...I'm not too sure about these pictures, but apparently Nixon is quite proud of himself. Now if I could only convince him that he should wear boys gonchies and use the toilet that would be another story.
