I don't know why it is that I get so behind on blogging. Maybe it's the incessant housework, or the three children, or the continual renovations we find ourselves in these days...maybe it's just me. I thought tonight I'd try to catch the blog up on what's been happening around these parts. We've been busy as usual.
This little person may or may not be one of the reasons I can't seem to keep up with blogging. She tries so hard to keep up with her big brother and sister. I found her 'innocently' having a good time in the bathroom while the tub was filling up the other night. Notice the guilty look on her face in this picture. The tub is full of toilet paper and rest of the roll in on the floor. She had it stuck on her feet even. One of those moments where you just have to take a picture. I love this kid!
Nixon and Trevor tried their hand at making a bottle rocket recently. I must say that it was totally AWESOME! Nixon was in heaven helping out Daddy with a project and all of us enjoyed setting it off again and again. We've improved it a little and played with it again and again and it is still a hit around our place. Next time you're over we'll bring it out and you can have a go. You'll love it too.
Scotia got herself stuck in the crockpot the other day. It was really funny. I don't even know why the silly thing was on the floor but I'm glad it was, because who can say they've been stuck in a crockpot? Not many people...but my baby can. And it was cute.
I found these two sharing a smoothy the other day. Nixon had his arm around Scotia and it melted my heart. He loves his sister and she loves him. It's moments like these that make my heart happy.
We visited the Home and Garden show here and came home with a cat and a blue dog. There was a great face painter there that did such a good job on the kids' faces. Of course Ally requested to be a cat and Nixon by default got to be the dog. The went to bed like this that night. I changed their pillow cases the next day. Good times.
I made bread bears for the kids a couple of Sundays ago. They were a hit! My mom used to make these for me and my siblings from time to time so I thought I'd give them a go. I was fun to do and it brought back a few memories. They even tasted good so that's fun too!
The Easter Bunny made a stop at our house over the holidays. Ally was so pleased with her giant chocolate cat that she had a hard time deciding where to bite into it first. Nixon exclaimed, as he hunted for treats: ' I LOVE Easter Bunny day?' I was amazed at how fast Scotia caught on to things and even more amazed at how fast she learned how to open up foil chocolates. Notice in the picture of the three of them that the sun isn't even all the way up and my kids are inhaling candy already. This is what life is all about when you're little. I just sat back and enjoyed watching them love it all.
Last but not least...in effort to try to get my children to be kinder to each other we made a rewards chart a few weeks ago for FHE. When people in our family do kind things towards and for each other they get to put a sticker on the chart...you know the drill. Scotia's favorite thing to do lately is pick stickers off of it and stick them too her face. Apparently she thinks she's the one being kind to all of us. What a funny little thing.
Well, that the just of it around here. We've been loving the sunshine that last few days and can't seem to get enough of being outside. Life just keeps rolling along...I guess that's a good thing.
